NTV (International Television Channel Ltd) ran Bangladesh's selection.
Voice of Bangladesh took place in Dhaka on 30 September, hosted by Tahsan Khan and simulcast on NTV and streaming platform Bongo, with ten acts competing. The show was originally set for 23 August and was pushed back after the submissions window was extended.
Beatmosphere won with "Tumi Ele" (তুমি এলে, You Came), sung in Bengali. Pulak Adhikary finished second with "Anari Majhi" and Vintage Theory third with "Boomerang." The other seven acts were not publicly ranked.
The result was decided by 40% professional jury, 40% Bangladeshi public and 20% Rest of the World — not the straight 50/50 jury-and-public split reported before the show, including by us. Full field and what was published are in our Voice of Bangladesh results.
Beatmosphere are an a cappella and beatbox collective formed in 2009 by Moktadir "BeatBaksho" Dewan. Everything in their arrangements — drums, bass, melody, effects — is made with voices and body percussion; there are no instruments on stage.
They normally perform as nine. Eurovision Asia allows a maximum of six performers, so six of them go to Bangkok. More in our profile of Beatmosphere.
Fahmida Nabi, Hamin Ahmed, Bappa Mazumder, Shawkat Ali Emon and Akhi Alamgir — among the biggest names in Bangladeshi music — made up the announced panel. The winner receives a cash prize and a recording contract ahead of Bangkok.
