The basics
What is Eurovision Asia?
It's the first-ever Asia-Pacific edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, licensed by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and organised with Voxovation. The inaugural contest is on Saturday 14 November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
When and where is Eurovision Asia 2026?
Saturday 14 November 2026 at One Bangkok Forum, 197 Wireless Road, Bangkok. The show starts at 20:30 Bangkok time, which is 13:30 GMT and 14:30 CET. A full Preview Show takes place the night before, Friday 13 November.
Who is hosting Eurovision Asia 2026?
Woody Milintachinda and Cindy Bishop, announced on 25 September 2026. Thailand's Channel 3 is the host broadcaster.
Which countries are competing?
Eleven: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam. All eleven are making their debut. Ten had both an artist and a song as of 14 October 2026.
How does the format work?
Unlike the original Eurovision Song Contest, there are no semi-finals — every country performs in a single show. The result is decided by an even 50/50 split between professional juries and public voting. Entries have to run under three minutes, and each act can put no more than six performers on stage.
Watching, voting and tickets
How can I watch Eurovision Asia 2026?
It streams live and free worldwide on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel, and each participating broadcaster airs it in its own country.
Can I vote if I live outside Asia?
Yes. Viewers in countries that are not competing vote together as a single "Rest of the World" bloc. At the national finals this has meant up to eight free votes on the official Eurovision Asia website, spread across at least three songs.
How do I get tickets?
Tickets went on sale on 1–2 October 2026 for two shows at One Bangkok Forum. The live Grand Final on 14 November costs US$50 to US$199, and the Preview Show on 13 November costs US$35 to US$150. They are sold through the official Eurovision Asia website, with Megatix as the ticketing partner for sales in Thailand.
Can you bet on Eurovision Asia 2026?
Mainstream bookmakers have not priced it. One prediction market, on Kalshi, opened in September 2026, but trading is so thin that its prices add up to more than double 100%. The odds on this site are our own editorial estimate, not betting prices.
Who is in, who is out
Why aren't Japan, China, India, or Australia competing?
Each has a different reason. Australia is structurally ineligible — broadcaster SBS already competes in the main Eurovision Song Contest, and it has also said it is sitting out this inaugural edition regardless. China and India have both signed up to Intervision, a rival contest, rather than sitting out by omission. Japan simply hasn't been linked to a bid, with no broadcaster there commenting publicly. Kazakhstan's broadcaster Khabar said in April that it had been invited, with a decision depending on finances; it is not among the eleven countries on the final list published on 11 September.
Why aren't Israel, Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia, or Azerbaijan competing, even though some of them sit partly in Asia?
Those are all EBU-member broadcasters that take part in the main Eurovision Song Contest. Eurovision Asia was set up for Asia-Pacific broadcasters that don't otherwise take part in the original contest, so broadcasters competing there aren't eligible here — geography aside.
Who organises Eurovision Asia?
The EBU licenses the Eurovision format to Voxovation, the company also behind the American Song Contest. Voxovation is led by CEO and co-founder Peter Settman, with Christer Björkman as Head of Music and Marcus Tang as Managing Director, Asia. The 2026 contest is produced with S2O Productions.
After Bangkok
Does the Eurovision Asia 2026 winner do anything at the main Eurovision Song Contest?
Yes — the winner is invited to perform as a guest at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 in Burgas, Bulgaria, in May 2027. It's not a competitive entry, but it's the first confirmed link between the two contests.
Does the winning country host Eurovision Asia 2027?
Not automatically. Organisers have said the 2027 host will be chosen through a bidding process rather than going to the winner by default.
