Sieng Lao: The One is scheduled for 23–24 September 2026, 20:30 ICT. It's one of the few selections spread across two nights, which suggests a semi-final-and-final structure — though VTE9 hasn't formally confirmed that. Artist, songs and voting split are all not yet announced.

Music scene

Laos's music industry is among the least internationally documented in the contest — there is very little English-language coverage of it to draw on, which is true of the national final itself as much as the broader scene.

Worth knowing

• One of only two national finals (with Nepal) not yet the subject of dedicated coverage on this site
• Laos was also on the original lineup for Our Sound, the 2009 contest that never aired
