Biography

Brotherhood of Man were a British pop group, started in 1969 by the songwriter and producer Tony Hiller as a name for a changing cast of session singers. That version had a worldwide hit with “United We Stand”. In 1973 Hiller settled on four members: Martin Lee, Lee Sheriden, Nicky Stevens and Sandra Stevens.

That line-up won the 1976 contest in The Hague with “Save Your Kisses for Me”, one of the group’s three British number ones. The four carried on performing into the twenty-first century, and the group’s sixteen studio albums sold more than fifteen million copies.
