Biography
Vicky Leandros is a Greek-German singer. In 1967 Leandros finished fourth for Luxembourg with “L’amour est bleu”, which became a hit around the world, and in 1972 won the contest for Luxembourg with “Après toi”.
In 2006 Leandros was elected a town councillor in the Greek port of Piraeus, and also served as its deputy mayor, before leaving politics in 2008, saying the work could not be combined with a singing career.

- 1967 The song that came fourth
Luxembourg's entry, "L'amour est bleu", was sung by Vicky Leandros, credited simply as Vicky, and finished fourth. It outlived almost everything else from Vienna. The following year the French bandleader Paul Mauriat recorded it as an instrumental under the title "Love Is Blue", and it became a hit around the world.
- 1972 The same eighteen
Every country from 1971 came back. Vicky Leandros returned for Luxembourg, five years after "L'amour est bleu". Tereza Kesovija, who had sung for Monaco in 1966, now sang for Yugoslavia. Sweden sent the Family Four for the second year running, and Portugal brought back Carlos Mendes.
- 1972 The result
Vicky Leandros won for Luxembourg with "Après toi", on 128 votes. Two countries gave her the maximum ten. It was a family affair: her father, Leo Leandros, co-wrote the music — credited under a pseudonym, Mario Panas — and the words.
- 2026 The shows
The first semi-final opened with a voice from the contest's past: Vicky Leandros, singing "L'amour est bleu", the song she had brought to this city for Luxembourg in 1967, with a seventy-strong choir behind her.
