Mang & Daou Win Thailand's Chosen One With "Aroma" — Full Results
Mang & Daou won Thailand's Chosen One on 27 September with "Aroma" and will represent the host nation at Eurovision Asia 2026. The top three, the full field, the jury, and the masked finalist unmasked.
Mang & Daou won Thailand’s Chosen One on Sunday 27 September 2026 with “Aroma,” and will represent the host country at the first Eurovision Song Contest Asia.
It makes them the only act in the contest who won’t need a flight. Thailand is both competing and hosting, so when the Grand Final opens at One Bangkok Forum on 14 November, Thailand’s entry will already be home.
The result
Channel 3 announced a top three on the night, and no points:
- Winner: Mang & Daou — “Aroma”
- Also in the top three: Gam Wichayanee — “Wichayanee”
- Also in the top three: D Gerrard — “I’m Just Lucky”
We are deliberately not numbering second and third, because the sources don’t agree. The contest’s own report lists D Gerrard ahead of Gam Wichayanee; Aussievision has Gam Wichayanee second; Wikipedia’s results table marks both simply as “top three.” Until Channel 3 publishes a scoreboard, “top three” is the most that can honestly be said.
The other seven acts were not ranked at all.
How it was decided
By the same three-way split the earlier national finals used: 40% professional jury, 40% Thai public, 20% Rest of the World.
That is worth recording because it was not known going in. Channel 3 had announced its five judges weeks earlier but never published a weighting, and we marked it as pending rather than assume. It turned out to be the standard formula.
The song
“Aroma” is sung in Thai. Its Thai title is Glinratree (กลิ่นราตรี), and it is credited to five writers: Jaruwat Cheawaram, Nita Chavalit, Vorapat Vongsukont, Worachet Thanupongcharat — and Piyatida Lekklang, which is Mang’s own name.
Channel 3’s announcement describes it as a fusion of Thai identity with modern pop, and both artists have talked about wanting to bring a recognisably Thai style to the stage. It performed seventh of ten on the night.
Who are Mang & Daou?
They are two solo artists who teamed up for this, not an existing duo.
Mang — Piyatida Lekklang, 26 — debuted in 2021 in the group Bamm and is described by organisers as the first female solo artist on the LIT Entertainment label. Daou — Pittaya Saechua, 28 — won the survival show LAZ iCON in 2021, debuted with boy band LAZ1, and has built an acting career alongside his music.
There’s more on both of them, and on what the pairing means for Thailand’s chances, in our profile of Mang & Daou.
The Handsome Wolf was D Gerrard
When Channel 3 revealed its ten finalists on 19 August, nine were named and one was not: a masked act billed only as The Handsome Wolf. We said at the time that we wouldn’t speculate about who it was.
The answer is D Gerrard, who competed under his own name on the night with “I’m Just Lucky” — performing last of the ten, and finishing in the top three. The mask did its job as a six-week talking point; the artist underneath turned out to be one of the more established names in the line-up.
The full field
In running order:
- Wonderframe — “Girlslikegirls”
- Retrospect — “Suriyuprakhon (Eclipse)”
- MONICA — “Kongkruankoi”
- JMNK — “Nonchalant”
- Jetset’er — “Oh Yeah”
- Tigger & Tara Viis — “Faded Ink”
- Mang & Daou — “Aroma” (winner)
- Zom Marie — “Khor Fun (Wish)”
- Gam Wichayanee — “Wichayanee” (top three)
- D Gerrard — “I’m Just Lucky” (top three)
The line-up was built for range — a rock band in Retrospect, a The Star 4 winner in Gam Wichayanee, pop duo JMNK, half-French singer-songwriter Zom Marie — and the top three reflects that spread rather than one sound.
The show
Thailand’s Chosen One was staged at Centerpoint Entertainment in Bangkok and broadcast on Channel 3 from 18:00 local time, with the international stream on the official Eurovision YouTube channel. K. Nui Sujira and DJ Nui hosted.
The jury was Pu Blackhead, Kru Ouan, Rudklao Amratisha, Tan Lipta and Boy Peacemaker. (Some outlets list the third judge by her nickname, Khun Tongneng.)
Rock veteran Sek Loso was the interval act.
What it means for the contest
Thailand was already rated highly on home advantage alone, before it had an entry. Now there is one to judge: a Thai-language song, performed by two artists with existing fanbases, in front of a home crowd. We moved Thailand up two points to 17% in our Eurovision Asia odds, one behind South Korea.
The honest caveat is the same one that applies to almost every national final this season: without published points, nobody outside Channel 3 knows whether this was a landslide or a photo finish, or whether the jury and the public even agreed. We look at that problem across the whole season in Seven national finals, one scoreboard.
