  • 1973 The result

The top three finished within six votes of one another. Luxembourg's Anne-Marie David won with "Tu te reconnaîtras" on 129 votes. Spain's Mocedades had 125 with "Eres tú". Cliff Richard, third this time, had 123.

  • 1973 The result

David's 129 came out of a possible 160. As a share of the maximum available, just over 80 per cent, no winner has ever scored higher.

  • 1979 Familiar faces

Anne-Marie David, who had won for Luxembourg in 1973, came back to sing for France. The Swiss trio Peter, Sue and Marc appeared for the third time, with reinforcements, and so, under a new stage name, did the Dutch singer Sandra Reemer.

  • 1979 One point behind, one jury to go

A country cannot vote for itself. The Spanish jury gave ten points to Israel, and that was that: "Hallelujah", by Milk and Honey with Gali Atari, won by 125 to 116. Spain's Betty Missiego was second and Anne-Marie David third.
