Biography

Carola is a Swedish singer who has been among the country’s most popular performers since the early 1980s, on albums that run from pop and disco to hymns and folk music. The debut album, Främling, came out in 1983, sold around a million copies, and is still the biggest-selling album in Swedish music history.

Carola has sung for Sweden at the contest three times: third in 1983 with “Främling”, first in 1991 with “Fångad av en stormvind”, and fifth in 2006 with “Invincible”. The 1991 win came on a tie-break, after Sweden and France finished level on points.
