Media Prima's TV3 is running Malaysia's participation, alongside its TonTon streaming platform.
Malaysia is the only country in the contest that isn't holding a public selection show of any kind. The announcement came instead during AJL: Anugerah Juara Lagu 40 on 15 August, from Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur — where ten artists were competing in the 40th edition of Malaysia's longest-running music competition, a separate, pre-existing event TV3 used as the moment to reveal its Eurovision Asia representative.
Aina Abdul — born Nurul Aina Abdul Ghani on 25 October 1993 in Johor Bahru, raised in Seremban — is a singer-songwriter and actress with a contemporary music degree from UCSI. She's known for powerful vocals, emotional delivery and bold styling, with hits including "Semalam", "Sepi" and "Terus Hidup"; her fanbase calls itself Ainations.
At AJL40 itself she won Best Performance for "Kamu" — the fourth single from her debut album Imaji, blending pop R&B with blues — performed with erupting-volcano staging, and also took the fan-voted Shopee Artist Icon award.
Malaysia's entry is "Bluest Sky", written by Aina Abdul herself. It was released on 8 October 2026, the day of a launch listening session at Rex KL in Kuala Lumpur, and her official visualiser followed on 14 October. It is a large-scale power ballad, mostly in English with some Malay, about love, grief and uncertainty in a troubled relationship and the hope that the sadness will pass.
She made it with veteran Malaysian producer and arranger Mac Chew, and has called it the most meaningful thing she has written. We had said it would be released on 9 October and sung entirely in English, as reported beforehand; it came out a day earlier, with some Malay in it. Full detail in our piece on "Bluest Sky".
