Carmelle Wins Pili, Pinas! Philippine Selection Night With "Sobra-Sobra" — Full Results

Carmelle won Pili, Pinas! Philippine Selection Night with “Sobra-Sobra,” and will represent the Philippines at Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 in Bangkok.

The result was decided by a three-way vote — 40% professional jury, 40% Filipino public, 20% Rest of the World — across a field of ten songs live from the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City, Quezon City, on Sunday 30 August.

Carmelle performed 9th of the 10 competing songs on the night.

Who is Carmelle?

Before Sunday, Carmelle was best known as the champion of Tawag ng Tanghalan: The School Showdown 2025 and the runner-up on The Voice Kids Philippines in 2019 — both ABS-CBN talent formats, following a pattern common across this contest’s Philippine field. She’s also a Pinoy Big Brother alum.

“Sobra-Sobra” was composed by Mat Olavides. It’s the entry that will carry the Philippines’ colours in Bangkok on 14 November.

The jury

Seven judges decided 40% of the result alongside the Filipino public and Rest of the World votes: Nonoy Tan of FILSCAP, Vina Morales, Angeline Quinto, Joane Laygo, Jed Madela, Choi Padilla and Louie Ocampo.

Hosts and venue

The show was hosted by Vice Ganda, Darren Espanto and Alexa Ilacad, live from the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City.

Also competing: DNA with “Between Bituin”; AJAA with “Make It Exist”; Jason Dy and Sassa Dagdag with “Di ‘Yan (Red Flag)”; VVINK featuring Wrive Russu with “Round n’ Round”; Ryssi Avila with “Good for You”; Elha Nympha, Esang de Torres, Lance Reblando and Nar Cabico with “Cheri(e)”; and Khimo with “Reason to Live.” ABS-CBN published a top three only — finishing positions below that, and points for anyone, were not released.

An earlier version of this page listed VVINK, WRIVE and Khimo as three acts without song titles, and misspelled one of the hosts’ names. Both are corrected above.

Why this result matters

The Philippines is one of the largest music markets in the contest and has a diaspora that mobilises hard for televised competitions — and Carmelle now carries that into Bangkok as a genuine contender. Bhutan and Malaysia had already selected before this final; the Philippines is the first result from a major pop market, with South Korea’s Korea’s Next Wave up next on 4 September.
